American History Civil War-Reconstruction
For my unit plan I decided to focus on the Civil war/Reconstruction era of American History. Most of my unit plan will focus primarily on the Civil war era, and the Reconstruction afterwards but there are still bits of my unit plan that will prelude that time period. When first checked out the textbook The Americans in the Watson College Library I was very excited to see what lesson plans I could come up with. This unit is a basic overview of the social, political, and economic tendencies of the Civil and reconstruction eras. In this unit plan, students will be asked to analyze, read, and interpret historic documents , look at historic pictures, and most importantly be able to involve themselves in many class discussions. This should be a cultural experience to many which should allow them to become better students, and more cultural aware.
